16th October 2017
VCE Media Film Screenings; VET Music Performance Exams; Surf Cadets: Preschool
VCE Media students completed short films as part of their assessment this year and will be holding a screening on Wednesday 18th of October 7:30pm. If you would like to attend, come along to school at this time and you will be directed to the screening area. Another screening will be held in a month or so when we have an entire Arts Faculty show.
VET Music Performance students have their exam this week, rocking out the examiners in Geelong.
Surf Cadets begin again this term for Year 3-6, and despite the water still being a tad chilly there were still plenty of keen faces at the beach.
A message from our Principal and School Council President:
The Apollo Bay P-12 College, in conjunction with the AB Kinder Committee and Colac Otway Shire have been working to try and build a new kinder, and potentially day care facilities, on school grounds. The current COS owned kinder facilities are in poor condition, and moving to a new purpose built facility on school grounds would have beneficial educational outcomes for Apollo Bay preschoolers as they transition to school. Disappointingly, we were recently informed by the COS that we were unsuccessful with the Department of Education and Training “Shared Facility Funding” for the kindergarten on the P-12 College site. We are now looking at a Plan B. With upcoming elections, new funding rounds, and other future opportunities, we plan to revisit our application and develop a new business case on concept and functional design, services, and the costs required, so we are ready for future funding opportunities.
