Southern Otways Sustainable (SOS)
13 December 2018
Solar Energy Information Days
Do you want to cut the cost of your power bills and help save the planet by reducing carbon emissions? Well, Solar Power for homes has never been cheaper!
Southern Otways Sustainable (SOS), a local not for profit group, is organising a solar bulk buy for residential homes in our area. We also plan to assist businesses and community groups to do the same!
Come to the Saturday Market on the 26th of January to learn more and support the initiative by adding your name to the list!
The following week on Saturday 2nd of February, we will hold the SOS Solar Energy Expo from 2–4pm, at the Senior Citizens Centre, Whelan St, Apollo Bay with experts and research for you to look at and discuss!
Whether you are a resident, holiday home owner, business person or member of a local community group, this is a fantastic opportunity as the Federal and State Governments are offering great subsidies and financing for you to make the move to renewable energy!
You will feel good and the planet will thank you for it!
Who are we…
Southern Otways Sustainable (SOS) was established earlier this year with the aim…
‘To encourage, facilitate and implement a transition from fossil fuels to 100% renewable energy sources.’
SOS recently became an incorporated association, electing office bearers to our committee of management (see below). These important steps enable us to develop stronger partnerships with the Shire Council, local businesses, householders, community groups and other renewable energy organisations in the region. They also enhance our ability to secure funding for renewable energy related projects in 2019 and beyond.
The members of SOS who have been elected to the SOS Committee of Management are:
President: Matt Armstrong
Vice President: Gail Bateman
Treasurer: Karen Keegan
Secretary: Kevin O’Connell
Ordinary Members: Steffi Falconer, Deb Bradfield, Nasser Kotb
