The Seekers’ Athol Guy joins annual Seniors Festival celebrations in Colac
September 20, 2017

Popular Seekers’ member Athol Guy will take the audience on a journey through a musical and visual spectacular as part of the 2017 annual Colac Otway Shire Seniors Festival.

A performance not to be missed Mr Guy and his band will be headlining the Country Concert at COPACC on October 17.

Colac Otway Shire Council has organised a bumper line-up of activities for this festival, which includes bus trips to Geelong Wool Exchange for high tea and a tour of Fort Queenscliff Museum.

A leisurely visit to Forrest followed by lunch and a beer tasting at the Forrest Brewery is happening on 11 October, while a trip to Ballarat Bird World is for feathered friends and nature lovers is planned for October 9.

Council’s Older Persons and Ability Support Services Coordinator Terry Maisey said there would be plenty of opportunities for seniors to enjoy local events, many of which are free.

“We have scheduled morning teas at Apollo Bay, Gellibrand, Birregurra and Beeac, as well as a visit to Colac Mallet Sports Club,” he said.

“The bus trip to the Warrion Flower Show will no doubt be popular and is new to the festival line-up in 2017.

“We have activities to suit all budgets, including eight activities that are free.

“Places fill fast and bookings are essential.”

Bookings open at 9am on Tuesday, 19 September. Bookings can be made in person at Council’s Rae Street office or by calling (03) 5232 9420.
