Apollo Bay Seniors Hall User Group Committee Update
19th July 2021

Colac Otway Shire (COS) has changed the structure of committees that manage community assets in the municipal district. For this reason, the Apollo Bay Seniors Hall User Group Committee intends to form an incorporated Community Asset Committee to manage the running of this community facility. This will enable access to future funding opportunities and gives the community greater control over the asset. As part of the move to incorporation, the Committee has voted to change the name of the venue to the Apollo Bay Community Hall.

Intention to incorporate will be taken to the COS Council Meeting in August, after which the Committee will call an AGM and invite interested parties to join the committee. The Committee are looking for members with interests in the arts, music, finance and community development, as well as representatives from a broad age range of the community. The main aim of the Committee is to support and enable the sustainable use of the hall for a range of activities that make best use of the recent multi-media audio and visual equipment upgrade and facility improvements.

Bookings for the hall now can be made via Marrar Woorn Neighbourhood House (details below) as well as the COS Apollo Bay Visitor Information Centre.
