Tue. 7 Nov '17 - 9 Holes Mixed Ambrose preceded Cup Day celebrations with sweeps, snail races and finger food. The winners of this were Sue and Brian McKenzie and Don O’Meara who scored 28 nett. Runners-up Joycie Henderson, partnered with Bruce and Dawn Thomas scored a nett 29. Brian McKenzie had a nearest the pin on 1st hole.

Wed. 8 Nov '17 - Men’s 4-weeker stroke event 2nd round in A Grade was won by Bob Bedson 70-10-60 with runner-up David Ivens 85-18-67, one stroke better than last week.. David Ivens had a nearest the pin on 1st/10th hole and on the 9th/18th hole Brian McKenzie was the closest. In B Grade an 82-14-63 gave Bill Buckley the win, over David Hand last week’s B Grade winner, who this week scored 82-18-64 to be runner-up. Bruce Thomas was the B grade player nearest the pin on 1st/10th.

Thu. 9 Nov '17 - was an 18 hole stroke competition for the women held in beautiful, sunny spring weather which resulted in the following people gaining trophies: A Grade Sandra Toone won with 104/77 and runner-up one stroke behind was Sue McKenzie 105/78. In B Grade Caroline Wren had 108/71 with Sami Oguzhan runner-up on 106/72. Putting in A grade was won by Janice McKenzie with 31 putts and In B Grade Caroline Wren won with 29 putts. The best gross score was achieved by Vicki Hannah with 94. Our first time monthly medal winner was an excited Caroline Wren.

Sun. 12 Nov '17 - Second round of the Coastal Cup played at Peterborough: 10 best aggregate scores over 2 weeks of play resulted in a win by Peterborough of 699 to 682. All players enjoyed the competition in good weather. Good scores for Apollo Bay were Colin Coleman, 38, Don Wagstaff 37, Kerryn Wagstaff, 37, Kurt Rixon 36, Ken Johnson, 36 and Martha Macintyre 30. There was no local competition held in Apollo Bay on this date.

Mon. 13 Nov '17 - Women’s 9 hole stableford event A grade was won by Adele Rowarth with 19 points. Runner-up Kerryn Wagstaff 14 points and in B Grade 15 points was a winning score for Faith Morrissy, pipping runner-up Maureen Vesey who had 14 points. Maureen however, won the nearest the pin on 10th with a lovely drive.

Visitors and new players welcome to join in on competition days.

The women players welcome new players to join them for 9 holes on Mondays. More experienced players can assist with your game, rules, etiquette etc $6, be at the clubhouse 12.30 so we can help organise clubs if you need them- hit off at 1 pm.

November 17th Happy hour 5-7 pm.

Nominations are being called for the General Committee as well as the women’s committee. Nomination forms are pinned on the notice board.

There is an agenda book in the women’s room for your suggestions before the women’s AGM on 30th November as well.

Please list your name for the Women’s dinner on Thursday 14th December and pay Women’s treasurer on or before 30th November.

Over the next few weeks please bring donations for women’s Christmas raffle.
