At Home Band Together Colac showcases community’s commitment

Well done Colac Otway, you have done it again.
Even in unprecedented times when we are asked to stay at home, our fantastic community has put on another fantastic show to raise money, when money is tight, for a great local cause.
What amazing talent this community has and for you to give up your time to entertain and raise funds proves we live in a great community.
With such thoughtful youth we really are in good hands for a bright future.
As the Mayor, I give heartfelt thanks to the organisers of the At Home Band Together Colac.
Thanks to the businesses and individuals that gave generously once again, and to all the viewers doing the right thing, staying home and tuning in.
As restrictions are eased a little I must stress to everyone the importance of not becoming complacent, and remaining vigilant in physical distancing and hand hygiene.
If we continue to use the hygiene measures we have become used to we can have a healthier society, protecting us not only from the COVID19 but also from the flu and gastro that also can have devastating impacts in our community.
We can look at eliminating points of contact in businesses and public toilets to also help the good fight.
I encourage any community member or business that have ideas or have made improvements to share what they have done to help keep us all safe.
Again, well done Colac Otway you truly make this the best community to be a part of.
