Kennett River Holiday Park resolves potential water issue
October 9, 2018

Colac Otway Shire Council is pleased Kennett River Holiday Park management can look forward to a busy week after resolving a potential water issue.

Colac Otway Shire Council Chief Executive Officer Peter Brown said park management had taken precautionary action following reports of a gastrointestinal outbreak last week.

“We are pleased the park has been able to continue operating by taking a proactive approach and trucking into potable water for visitors to minimise any risk to visitors and the community,” Mr Brown said.

“Council will continue investigations and working with the caravan park operator, Otway Coast Committee and the Department of Health and Human Services to confirm the source of the illness,” he said.

Any instances of suspected gastro should be reported to council’s health protection unit on 5232 9400 for further investigation.
